OVERNIGHT SUCCESS

Every solopreneur wants to be successful in their business endeavour.
Me too, and that's totally understandable.
However, unlike the good old days, few have the patience to put in years of hard work.
Many go as far as wanting to be overnight successes.
Someone said that it takes ten years to be an overnight success.
So, are quick successes an impossibility?
Let me tackle that question in this article.

A Piece Of Advice For The Solopreneur

I was asked an interesting question today. The question goes like this:

What is one piece of advice that you want to share with aspiring solopreneur?

The answer that immediately came to mind was something I wished someone gave me when I started out.

And it's this: Try not to figure out the business alone.

Why so?

Because There's No Need To

That's exactly what I did back in the late 90s and mid 20s because everyone was still figuring it out. But now? That's old school.

In fact, this was how most of us started in the good old days when the internet was new.

Whoever had a business idea head to the library for information. There was no shortage of information in the library. We suffered from information overload even in those days.

So we choose whatever information we considered useful, mix and match them, tweaked them a little so they fitted our context and then executed them with fingers crossed.

Some of the ideas worked, others don't, so we keep trying and testing, testing and trying. It took years to figure out what truly work for our business.

Plus, it used to be hard to find someone willing to share their precious experience.

One of the reasons why it was difficult to get a mentor or consultant is because such expertise used to be "closely guarded secrets".

But times have changed and there's really no need to go that long old school route.

Who, Not How

To achieve your business objective faster, don't ask yourself, "How do I do this or that", first ask, "Who has done it?"

Once you've found the “Who”, the person will teach you the “How”.

Remember, Who, Not How.

Most people start a business thinking about overnight successes.

This is why words like fast-track, hacks, shortcuts, effortless, etc sell so well.

The good news is, ease of access to accumulated knowledge in today's world has made it possible BUT, and that's a big BUT, you have got to first find the right “Who”.

So, if you don't want to spend ten years to learn all the mistakes, leverage on someone who has and has already found all the hacks!

Tap On My Experience

I'm not good at everything.

But, I do know a thing or two where being a solopreneur or freelancer is concerned.

I've spent more than ten years honing my skills.

What skills?

Apart from translation and teaching skills, I had to learn how to run a business.

From market positioning to pitching. From client acquisition to client retention. From negotiation to deal closing. Etc.

I started out having to do every one of those tasks, I ended up setting up a system that does it all.

Would You Like To Achieve That?

I can help you.

You just need a few tools, you just need a workable system and some patience.

It's really that simple. Note that I didn't say it's easy but, with me, it'll be easier than figuring it all out on your own.

One More Thing

I am not promising you overnight success, just a shorter route to your success.

The result greatly depends on how much you want to execute.

Conclusion

Give yourself some time to think about it. Consultation won't be free and it won't be cheap, but I guarantee you it'll be money well spent.
